March 6th: Mekton Zeta (Cont'd.)

Malcolm is released on bail- highly unusual. Vayron and Alexi go to pick him up in a borrowed Whipporwill from 1104 and take him to the lab. Nisha starts her investigation and finds nothing extremely conclusive. Dr. Browning comes to the lab to discuss the results and "fixes" Malcolm's tracker and other gadgets. The group decides that Malcolm should stay with Vayron for the night for security reasons. Vayron moves some of his artillery so Malcolm will have a place to sleep. That night, Alexi sleeps fitfully.

In the morning, Nisha goes to pick up the body of Alexi's girlfriend. Alexi meets up with Vayron and Malcolm to spar with Malcolm. After that, they do their morning workout. Malcolm is not pleased.

Nisha works on finding evidence and answers on the body. What she finds is mostly inconclusive, except for the few cells where she finds fragments of cell walls. She has lunch with her parents with Vayron accompanying her. She upsets her parents with having a body guard and the lunch ends rather abruptly. While at the university, Nisha drops off a sample of the cells for Dr. Browning to look at. Vayron picks up his robot. While Nisha and Vayron are gone, Alexi receives a link about the morning murders on Hyborea. Jericho also data links Alexi. Jericho tells Alexi that the dead student found in Malcolm's room is being held in the same place that Malcolm was imprisoned. She has also found some video of the dead student and Erica. Jericho asks Alexi why he keeps appearing to be at West Biologics Assessments, but he skirts the question.

Vayron and Nisha check into the Hilton and investigate the crime scene. They hear some footsteps as they are packing up and high tail it back to the ducts. Three militia come into the room and examine the scene without speaking to each other. Once they leave, Nisha and Vayron return to their room where Nisha proceeds to do some experiments with her travel kit. She finds the same oxidizer from the poisoned dogs case and an anticoagulant. Malcolm stays with Alexi for the night.

When Vayron and Nisha show up to the lab the next morning, there is an irate delivery driver waiting. He leaves a cryo chamber and takes off. Once Vayron and Nisha get the container inside, they open it up and find the body of the student, Lissy, Malcolm supposedly killed. (Thanks, Jericho!) Nisha gets to work right away and finds:
1. There were remnants of a psionic effect that would have put her in the room with Malcolm and congruent to the psionic effect there.
2. Lissy was stunned with a stunner shortly before being found.
3. Shortly after Lissy was stunned, the toxin and anticoagulant were administered.
4. Lissy was dead for approximately 10 minutes before being carved by Malcolm.

Nisha and Vayron are data linked that the body is missing. Once Nisha is done with her investigation, Vayron leaves and Nisha calls the magistrate to say the body had been delivered by mistake. The magistrate shows up in force for the body and ask for her results. Nisha explains what happened and demands payment for her analysis. The militia finally agree, they pay her and leave. Shortly after, Vayron, Alexi and Malcolm show back up at the lab. Malcolm receives news from his lawyer that the charges are being dropped. Alexi informs Dr. Browning that he needs to un"fix" Malcolm's tracker, and takes Malcolm to where he's supposed to be. On the way back to the lab, Alexi stops by to see Jericho and find out she's overdosed on caffeine. He throws her in her shower to snap her out of it, and says he's taking her to breakfast.
